We are excited to welcome you into the unapologetic season of merrymaking and partying. If you have been conformed all through the year for one reason or the other, now is the time to break loose and go wild. Bear in mind that January will come in no time lest you be filled with regrets of not partying when you had the chance to.
This year has promised to end in grand style with countless numbers of concerts headlined by our tireless entertainers. What has been your excuse for missing the previous ones that have gone down and why would you want to miss all the fun lined up for the rest of the year? Safety is a factor that should never be compromised all in the name fun and that is why we have highlighted some tips that will keep you in check while attending concerts this season.
- Go In A Group
This is the first measure of safety to take when going for a concert for both guys and ladies as cases of rape and robbery are the major concern of people when deciding whether to go for a concert or not. The crowd is usually uncontrollable and you can’t leave your personal safety in the hands of security officials. Going for concerts in a group will assure you of at least one person that will be by your side. Sticking with a group will also pervert the risk of getting lost because that happens a lot.
2. Be Punctual
Getting to a concert early is the best way to enjoy the vibe. Early birds get to grasp quality fun time by experiencing the opening acts and securing themselves a permanent space without struggle. Getting to the front row is the goal of all ravers – that way, they plant themselves directly in front of the performer who would possibly reach out, make physical contact and even share gifts.
3. Dress Smart
Find a place at the back of your mind to stick your purpose of going for a concert. For a thing, you are not going to impress anybody rather to have mindless fun. Women should especially learn not to fall into the trap of thinking you need to look super cute in order to fit in. You are advised to wear something that you feel good and can move easily in. Comfortable shoes and light clothing is the best thing you can do for yourself because it will definitely get hot on the floor. Be wise not to wear slippers for a concert when you have a pair of sneakers that can keep you fit the whole period of standing or did you think you are going there to sit and enjoy? Guys are rather advised to stray from button-up shirts when a nice round neck is just perfect. Ladies are also advised to get a hold of their fancy hairstyles in ponytail or buns. Everybody should wear deodorants too!
4. Parking Space and Exit Strategy
It is safe to make a little effort of finding out about the concert venue before you hit the road if you are driving. Know about the parking space capacity of the venue or somewhere secure and close to park your car. Next to this is having an exit strategy because of the noise and chaos that are twinned with musical concerts. It is important to have a designated meeting spot and a fully charged phone in case of emergency. An idea of the venue layout will be very helpful i.e the entrance, restrooms, exits, vendor stands etc. At the end of the event, make sure there is a spot to meet up with your group in case you are lost. Your power bank should be your best friend, have at least one number in the group memorized in case you lose your phone.
5. Finally, don’t be scared to call out concerts, festivals or raves when you see safety issues. In the same way we give kudos to concerts, I think we need to call out concerts when we see something that we feel doesn’t address safety issues.
