To close off his nationwide university tour – which saw him perform at over 35 schools – Mayorkun the ‘Mama’ and ‘Che Che’ crooner will be headlining a concert in Lagos at the Hard Rock Café on December 14; his first in the city as a top-billed act.
The concert, titled The Mayor of Lagos, is created in collaboration with Eclipse Live Africa – the producers responsible for the hit annual beach festival, Gidi Culture Fest – so you know Mayorkun is about to deliver.
Following his ‘Rookie of the Year’ win at the 2016 Headies and a bunch of stellar singles – “Sade”, “Mama” and the recently released “Che Che” – Mayorkun is definitely on track to be the next big thing; that’s why we believe that he’s going to walk away with the Headies ‘next Rated Awards’ this year.
Speaking about his nationwide tour and the concert, he said:
“The last 18 months of this journey had been nothing short of amazing! So yes, I just had to do this. For the culture, I guess!”
Mayorkun pretty much had a great year with the success of his hit song ‘Mama’.
Also expected to perform at the show are ‘Dremo’, ‘Davido’ ‘Dammy Krane’ and others from the DMW music label.
