Rumor has it that Tequila and human memory retention are not the best of friends as a result of the crazy hangover it comes with. It is generally believed that once you sign up for a Tequila drinking spree, you are bound to lose a part of your memory from the night of rendezvous. This nasty labeling of Tequila has been from time immemorial and nobody seems to be able to change it unless they deny themselves of drinking Tequila at all.
This overwhelming reputation of Tequila is capable of making us forget the health benefits which include its ability to aid in digestion, fight cholesterol, ward off common colds. In this post, we are going to be cracking the code of hangover and memory loss when drinking Tequila. This will give you the confidence to have that mindless fun you have been longing to have with your friends.
Let’s go!
Quality Only
This is absolutely the first thing to look out for in your tequila adventure whether it is original or not. You can’t expect a sound memory after drinking any low-quality alcohol – know this and know peace. You are allowed to go as slow as checking the brand of tequila you are about to down before giving in. In essence, you are also advised not to mix the businesses of other alcohol brands with the pleasure of tequila.
Avoid Worms and Colouring
Colouring is a red flag when you are ordering tequila. You may have not seen a worm inside your tequila shot before but from history, a worm is dropped in your shot to show that the content is indeed alcohol, not water. What we have also been made to realize is that a worm containing alcohol inevitably includes chemicals and additives. Coloured tequila is just another form of extreme sports for the purpose of marketing. Please always look out for the colourless tequila.
Straight Tequila vs Cocktail Tequila
You may want to spice up your tequila shot by making it sugary to taste, mixing it with a margarita and processed lime juice but we are sad to announce to you that, this is a one-way ticket to a crazy hangover and a serious memory loss. Don’t try it! Sip it on the rocks with fresh limes and lots of ice instead.
You Are Not Allowed to Chug, Sip Instead!
In the U.S., tequila is commonly consumed out of a shot glass, and chugged as quickly as possible, to avoid tasting it. If you’re drinking the good stuff, you won’t need to do that. Plus, sipping it slowly means you’ll inevitably drink less, which lowers your chance of waking up with a killer hangover.
Don’t Overdo It
Just like any type of alcohol, if you drink an entire bottle of tequila by yourself, there’s no way that you’re going to avoid that dreaded hangover—no ifs and or butts. But that’s not the tequila’s fault, it’s yours.
