So while we did a get familiar series a few days ago on some top lagos ballers you should know as well as Drinks for kings. We are still reminded that not everybody balls hard and yes just like me some people are cash strapped. A few years ago, i could happy spend a couple thousands on a bottle of champagne but right now Nigeria’s Economy has thought me a lesson.

If you’re strapped for cash the most obvious and effective method for drinking alcohol while on a budget is simply not to drink at all or to just drink less. Unfortunately for some people, this is far from a viable option. But not to  worry, we got you covered.

Below is a list of useful methods to help you save money on alcohol while still ballin on a budget.

Have a budget– The very first step to ballin on a budget is Having a budget. While i hear most people talk about being on a budget not much of them actually have a set budget. For Heaven’s sake how do you know you have exceeded your budget when frankly speaking you really don’t have a set budget? First things first, Have a budget.

Be informed – Know the Bars. Know the specials. Take Advantage of the Happy Hours. This shouldn’t be a problem as we got you covered on this. All you need do is check our events section on a daily basis.

Predrink – Unless you don’t know how to pace yourself once you get to the bar, predrinking is a method preferred by any accomplished baller on a budget. Pre drinking simply means Drinking alcohol before you go out to the club to maximize your fun at the club while spending the least amount on extremely overpriced alcoholic.

 Drink Beer. Cocktails and wine are both delicious, but they’re also usually more expensive than beer – sometimes twice as much per drink! If you like beer as much as you like wine and liquor, save cocktails  and wine for when you’re drinking at home, and stick with beer at the bar.

Drink with friends and share the Bill –  This works almost every time. If you really are on a budget, well depending on the time of friends you keep or how you portray yourself before them. Balling, partying or hanging out with friends that you can easily share bills with is another great way to have a great night without breaking the bank.

Ditch the credit cards – Ever looked at your bank balance the morning after and had the shock of your life? Taking your credit card out with you is never a good idea as it’s so easy to lose track of how much you’ve spent.  Do yourself a favor and leave the credit cards at home, we promise they won’t get lonely.

Drink Water in Between – A good way to save money, and ensure that you don’t get too drunk too quickly, is to drink ice water in between every alcoholic drink. Liquor can also be very dehydrating, which is one of the causes of a hangover the next morning. By drinking ice water between drinks, you also help ensure that you don’t feel so bad the next day.
