The story of King Jaja of Opobo is legendary amongst the people of the Delta. The play centers on the heroic figure of this adopted young boy who grew up to become King in the midst of bitter rivalry and confrontation. Finally exiled by the colonial masters Jaja of Opobo signifies the story of Nigerians pre-independence.
