Whether at a club, bar, party or just drinking with friends you should never mix drinks as you just may be killing yourself slowly a recent study says.
Most Nigerians, at least the few we spoke to while researching this topic believes it really isn’t a problem mixing different drinks together, mixing alcohol with energy drinks neither is it a big deal mixing alcohol and coca-cola.
Well, People who add energy drinks to alcohol have a higher risk of injury from car accidents and fights, compared to those who drink alcohol straight. This is the conclusion of a recent study released a few months back by scientists specialized in the subject.
Regular Coca Cola has around 34 milligrams of caffeine and caffeine as proven by scientists overrides the effect that alcohol has on the body by keeping the drowsiness to a minimum thereby making you feel less intoxicated than you really are. While little is known about other side effects of these kind of mixture,it has been proven beyond reasonable doubt that people who mixed caffeine(normal Coca-cola or energy drinks) and alcohol were four times more likely to attempt to drive drunk than those who drank only alcohol thereby leading to a higher chance of deaths while driving.
While most believe mixing drinks with coke, fanta and the likes reduces the alcohol concentration of spirits, what it actually does is compress the effect, making you feel like a boss that never gets high but meanwhile but waiting for a time to either boost out (possibly while driving back home for the night) or just fade out but then again, stay safe, drink responsibly and avoid mixing drinks as even more than road accidents, mixing alcohol has effects on the brain.
