Suya is one of Nigeria’s top night snack. It is a common sight to see customers huddled around their favourite suya spot at night in a haze of smoke as they wait to quench their roasted peppered spicy meat cravings.

These guys have been making great suya for as long as I can remember in Lagos.The downside to this however is that unless you are a member of The prestigious Ikoyi club you cannot access the venue talk less of making a purchase. However If you are lucky, you find one of the ‘mallams’ stray out and you can ask that they help you get some.
Launched in 2016 and Popularly called ‘HOS’ by its teeming customers, they are located in Ikota just before the the popular ‘Mega Chicken’. They are about the most socially driven suya joint in Lagos with different types of suya on their menu like chicken suya, beef suya, ram suya, tozo, kidney and kilishi. House Of Suya also has an ample parking space for customers with cars. They have been able to use Instagram, whatsapp and facebook to acquire and engage customers. However, the best thing about them is their excellent one-hour delivery system within the Island. Their roasted fish has also become a fan favourite. You should try them out!
Glover Court Suya is located on Glover Court, off Glover Road in Ikoyi, Lagos state. Set in a serene and cozy environment, they serve a variety of suya delicacies, including beef, kidney, tozo, liver, shaki, chicken and gizzard suya. Did I just catch you salivating? That they are open past midnight is good news for night crawlers like me.
University Of Suya (Ikeja):
Located in the ever busy Allen Junction in Ikeja, this is the shrine of suya worship on the mainland. The suya comes in different shapes and types, from ram suya, gizzard or tozo. My favourite is the famed beef suya spiced with tomatoes, pepper and plenty of cabbage. They never get it wrong. This is the perfect place for you if you want to come out at night for suya.
Located on the famous admiralty way, this suya joint is managed by the good folks of Buka Hut, Admiralty way. Their suya was once described as ‘fire’ by a good friend of mine. An avid ‘suya connoisseur’. However get ready for long waits when you order yours as there is a never ending queue waiting to buy and enjoy the hot crispy suya sticks.
