Flavour’s Enugu Concert: ”No report yet of rape in our command” Enugu Police

Following the news that made rounds on social media some days ago about some alleged rape cases at the just concluded Flavour Africa Concert held at Micheal Okpara square, The Enugu state police command says there has been no reported case of rape from the musical concert organized by Flavour last weekend

While some NIgerians have claimed that over 20 girls were raped admist the tight security and some of the rapist allegedly wore masks during the attack the state police command did release a statement at the time saying it will be investigating the matter.

The state police command spokesperson, Ebere Amaraizu, yesterday briefed journalists stating that there has been no case of rape lodged in any of its police divisions. Amaraizu doubted the authencity of the reports of the alleged mass rape.

While most questions remain unanswered about this and as we await further investigation details from the State Police command as well as Flavour one question remains paramount.

”You even begin to ask yourself, those people that quoted number of the rape victims as 20, how did they do the counting? Does it mean they were following the rapists around and taking the data? Or the victims were assembled at one place and raped? Who are these victims?”
