Locally made Nigerian drinks we love : Fura Da Nono

What you need:

  1. Cup millet or Guinea corn meal
  2. Soya bean meal
  3. Dried pepper (ground)
  4. Cloves (ground)
  5. Dried ginger root(ground)
  6. Corn flour
  7. 2 liters water (For boiling)
  8. 1 liter Fresh cow milk yogurt “No-no” or Normal yogurt
  9. Granulated sugar to taste

Direction:

  1. Mix the dry flour ingredients and spices together in a bowl.
  2. Make a well in the center and add a little water just enough to act as a binding agent for the dry ingredients.
  3. Mold into medium sized balls.
  4. Heat the water for about 7mins and when it starts to boil, drop the molded balls into the water and leave to boil for about 20 minutes.
  5. Transfer the boiled balls from the pot into a mortar and pound thoroughly.
  6. Re-mold once more into small balls and sprinkle with corn flour to keep the balls moist
  7. To serve, pour the nono into a bowl.
  8. Add the balls (mashed) and Sugar to taste. Enjoy.
